September 2007

It's Fall again and we are excited to show you some projects we've recently completed. This month we are featuring a contemporary apartment on Lafayette Street in SoHo, New York City and a house on Martin's Lane in Nantucket, Massachusetts. You can see details below and all of the images on our website at jonaseveretsdesign.com. As always, Jonas would like to hear from you. Please email him directly here.

Recent Project -  Lafayette Street Apartment in Manhattan with Gerry Smith Architects

Making a small space seem large and airy is a challenge that we look forward to meeting. We had the opportunity to work with Gerry Smith Architects in a one bedroom floor through apartment on Lafayette Street. The space is cozy, contemporary and bright. Jonas Everets Design finished the walls in a subtle, buttery white marmorino with a final application of a buffed wax top coat. The marmorino was applied to most of the walls including heavily trafficked areas like the bathroom and kitchen. The resulting space is airy, open and modern. A space that otherwise could have seemed very plain with simple painted walls now radiates with a richness full of light and depth of texture. Recent Project - House on Martin's Lane in Nantucket with Architect Hale Everets

Creating different wall finishes for an entire house is especially exciting because we are able to transform the interior with an entirely new palette and feel. Recently brothers, Jonas and architect Hale Everets, had the opportunity to work together on a home in Nantucket. The colors chosen reference Nantucket summers and bring the beach feel inside. A warm ochre colored Venetian Plaster was customized for the living room. The finish is smooth and refined with a buffed wax top coat. The sunny color and shiny top coat bring light and fresh color to the room. Both bathrooms in the house were finished with Nuovo Marmorino, which has a more textured  appearance as well as great durability. A sophisticated green was created for the master bath to complement a mature palette. Inspired by the willowing grasses on the beach, the bathroom was transformed into a relaxing retreat. A fun, summery, sky blue was picked for the children's bath. The whole house feels casually elegant, fresh and airy. It is a true beach retreat and relaxing getaway.
