Recent Project- Tribeca Apartment with Robert Couturier

One of our greatest pleasures recently has been the opportunity to work with Robert Couturier in a beautiful Tribeca apartment. We custom created our new Nuovo Luxe Plaster for the rich leather brown accent walls. The effect is totally luxurious. The natural variation in color and contrast create a rich, warm complement to the predominantly light color scheme. Nuovo Luxe Plaster is our latest product we have added to our extensive library of materials. It has the appearance of Venetian Plaster but with a more durable finish and less color variation. Contrasting walls in white were finished in Marmorino giving the clean open white spaces an extra added depth of color and texture. These white walls are anything but ordinary. Their simple elegance catches the light creating the look of natural stone. The gorgeously decorated apartment is designed to the finest detail. Customized shelving nooks were finished with a white Marmorino exterior, giving the room luminosity, and the brown custom plaster for the interior accent, providing the perfect setting for Couturier's unique designing touches. We also created blue walls, using the same Nuovo Luxe Plaster to accent the overall color scheme. The elegant color and sheen gives the whole space an added brightness and certain crispness. All three finishes work together to comlete the stunning final look. To see all the images of the finished project, take a look at our website at jonaseveretsdesign.com.

New Material - Nuovo Luxe Plaster

We're excited to announce the latest addition to our materials library. Nuovo Luxe Plaster is similar to Venetian Plaster but is more even in tone, has less mottling and is also more durable. Dark colors, especially like the rich brown in this project, show many layers of tonal variation when made with lime based plaster. However, for this project we wanted a smoother and more refined surface. Robert Couturier's ultimate finish was created with a total of nine layers of different materials. So, in order to create the desired finish, we customized a new mix of materials for a perfect solution. Layers of synthetic plaster were applied and sanded, then layers of sealer were laid on top and sanded again. Finally several layers of wax were applied allowing for further durability and the finish to be buffed to a high shine.
