Forest Frieze is inviting during all seasons!
Jonas Everets Design has made being indoors feel natural, again! This is part two of the collaboration with designer Robert Couturier. Jonas Everets brought the countryside inside for a second time, with a custom hand-carved edge of the forest pattern plaster frieze.
The library radiates the presence of this elegant plaster frieze. This project is a continuation from the adjacent living room, where there is another Jonas Everets Design plaster frieze, in a geometric vertical reed pattern. The classic foliage design of this frieze gives the library a distinguished but gentle appearance, a delightful variation to the wood paneling below. Jonas gave sensitivity to the flat white of the plaster by finishing the panels with a soft natural glaze.
Hand-carved by skilled artists, the continuous panoramic three-dimensional installation passes through all corners of the library. The result is a sophisticated aesthetic, which is both contemporary and timeless.
Plaster Frieze Design Process
The process began with detailed concept drawings and progressed through different design stages from custom made templates and hand tooled wax carvings to rubber molds and finally to the finished panels. The resulting panels have a substantial yet delicate appearance that reflects the nuances of a custom, hand crafted product.
